Hi there, I am Celis Taylor, but you can just call me “Taylor.” Celis is my first name. It is Puerto Rican, a gift from my father’s side of the family, and it means incomparable. While everyone calls me Taylor, I truly believe that the experiences made on wedding days are just that - incomparable. Everyone deserves to have photos that feel like them; Incomparable images that are inspired by the root of you both coming together.
This journey as a photographer began as a simple curiosity, but sprawled into something passionate; I dove into photography out of interest, trying to make sense of my purpose. Little did I know, I would fall in love with capturing the in-between moments of friends + families, laughing alongside wedding guests & building forever relationships with my couples. I recently picked up a film camera, one that my late great grandmother used all throughout her life, and it resonated with me how important the little moments are on wedding days – after losing her, I felt drawn to the moments when my couples aren’t thinking about what their hair looks like, or how to pose, because that is truly when they are themselves. Unfiltered & Incomparable. Moments that we cannot possibly recreate.
I am a (dog) mom, a loving partner, and a loyal friend. Every part of my work is inspired by living a full life with those around me. I am honored to hold these titles, and I am thrilled you came here today. I want to capture your love story – the real one.
I want to laugh over a cup of coffee, eat your favorite pizza while sitting on the sidewalk, find a rooftop and watch the sunset, dance in the middle of the street, stuff our faces with pastries from that bakery on the corner, and go for a stroll in the park. These little moments that seem insignificant are some of the sweetest memories one can make. Every part of life is special, and deserves to be documented as such.
Film has allowed me to find the beauty in everything. To turn every person, place, thing into this beautiful, nostalgic piece of art. To slow down and really be in the moment. Watching the laughs from loved ones, the way the wind blows someones hair in the most beautiful mess, the sun hitting that building just right. The creative freedom to document life exactly the way it is. Real and raw.
I view my work the same way I view life. I want life to feel carefree, cozy, and nostalgic. Maybe I romanticize it too much, but our time here is short. I want you to feel comfortable and safe and alive in front of my camera. Be yourselves without a care, and then revel in the nostalgic feeling you get when you look back on those images.
